GEMINI’S iTRAX FEATURED AT Europe’s coolest hipster DJ’s rock February 27, 2007, Edison, NJ: Packed with hipsters and discerning music fans from both sides of the pond, teams of the hottest up-and-coming DJ’s from Europe and New York City converged on Brooklyn hotspot Studio B on Saturday, February 24 th to rock the spot, not with vinyl, CD’s or laptops, but their iPods – all for the adulation of the crowd, with the winning team taking home a Gemini iTRAX Mixing Console for iPod. Presented by Paris-based youth marketing and promotions team OuhLaLa, iPod Battle events have quickly become all the rage in Paris’ underground club scene over the last year, attracting hundreds of hip and trendy French clubbers to root for their favorite teams of big name DJ’s such as Telepopmusik,Justice, and Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter battle it out, playing their favorite songs of all genres – rock, dance, punk, hip-hop, heavy metal, and more – off their personal iPod. Now OuhLaLa’s New York-based team brings the iPod Battle to US shores with a series of bi-monthly events, powered by Gemini DJ’s iTRAX Mixing Console for iPod™. February’s first event starred the likes of such up-and-coming European luminaries as Telepopmusik (Refuge Records, Paris) and Holmar Filipsson (Thugf*#ker, Iceland), while the New York contingent was anchored by Matty B.
